Fishing Date: 01-25-2012

Where is everyone? January so far has been almost warmer than last March. Fishing has been great due to warmer days, and great water levels. Sleep in or leave work, and get to the river around 10am. Letting the water warm up a degree or two, will improve your chances of catching fish.

The Hatchery: Has been good with Micro Eggs and Zebras. 5X to 7X.

The Private Waters: The Davidson and West Fork have been good with Blue Zebras, Peacock Soft Hackle, Gurdle Bugs, and Black Caddis.

Small Streams: Stimulators, and Tungsten Droppers. Pheasant Tails, Grn. Copper Johns, Prince Nymphs.

Tuckaseegee and Watauga: Great when both generators are not running. Olives,Soft Hackles, Worms and Eggs. Streamers under a 150 sink tip if the water gets a bit high.

If none of this works? Try the stuff below.
